Becoming a mom at a young age forced me to quickly grow into a responsible adult, shaping the woman I am today. I’m proud of my evolution into a real estate agent who treats clients with the utmost professionalism, represents them confidently, and genuinely cares about their wellbeing.
I didn’t have a clear direction in my youth, but when my daughter was born in my early 20s, I quickly learned important lessons about independence and responsibility. Becoming a mother pushed me to find stability, which led to a job as a government worker. Eventually, I transitioned into property management, which kickstarted my passion for real estate.
My early days weren’t easy. I was raised in Washington, D.C., by a single mother who worked two jobs to provide for me and sent me to private school. Despite her hard work, we lived in a tough community. After high school, I wasn’t sure what direction to take, so I followed a friend to Virginia State University to study Criminal Justice.
During my second year, I got pregnant with my daughter, Paige. I made the difficult decision to drop out and focus on raising her. My mom told me I had to figure this out on my own, and I quickly learned some hard lessons. The years that followed, I got married and had two more children, Justin and Jared. I eventually landed a job as a property manager for government commercial property, a role I held for 20 years. That experience taught me essential skills I still use today, such as professionalism and the importance of constantly striving for growth.
My interest in real estate began when my great uncle sold a condo in Washington, D.C., and I helped with the transaction. In 2006, I got my REALTOR® license and quickly found success—I was named Rookie of the Year and knew I had found my passion. For the next decade, I balanced working full-time in government with my growing real estate business.
However, building my real estate career came with its challenges. Much of the knowledge I needed wasn’t readily available, and I had to learn how to run a business through trial and error. Managing my personal finances, prioritizing tasks, and learning to say "no" became essential lessons—many of which I learned while going through a divorce.
But life had a sweet surprise in store for me. One day, while my daughter and I were at the motor vehicle office, I unexpectedly ran into Tyrone, my childhood boyfriend. We had grown up across the street from each other when I was 10, and he was even my first kiss! Twenty-five years later, we met again by chance, and to top it off, our cars were parked right next to each other. I took it as a sign from God that this person wasn’t to be missed! A year later, we got married and welcomed our daughter, Faith.
Today, I’m fortunate to have a large, loving family. My daughters are now mothers themselves, and it’s amazing to see how our family has grown. It’s a big change from my childhood when it was just my mom and me. I always hoped for a large family, and now I have that. I also see my clients as extended family, as my role often extends beyond being a REALTOR®—I offer encouragement, hope, and sometimes just a listening ear.
In 2023, I started my own team, leading four talented women as buyer’s agents. I enjoy mentoring younger agents and sharing what I’ve learned over the years.
As I continue to grow in my career, I’m excited about what’s next. I hope to travel internationally with Tyrone, something we’ve always talked about.
Alongside real estate, I’m also involved in my church, where I lead community outreach programs. We believe we are only as strong as our weakest link, so we offer assistance to anyone in need, whether within or outside the church. Whatever the need, if we can help, we will. For me, service is both a calling and a joy.
The most rewarding aspect of real estate for me is serving my clients. I love that you never know who you’ll meet, and many of my relationships extend well beyond the transaction itself. My business is people-centered, and I take seriously the responsibility of making a positive impact on my clients' lives. Helping them navigate the significant process of buying or selling a home brings me great joy.
Specializing in residential real estate, I’m driven by a commitment to continuous improvement. I’m always eager to learn and grow within the industry, which enables me to confidently represent my clients. Having completed over 300 transactions, I’ve realized that success in real estate is not just about knowledge—it’s about action. I’m a go-getter, dedicated to getting results for my clients.
Each transaction presents unique challenges, but my experience has equipped me to handle them with confidence. If I don’t have the answer, I’m committed to finding it. My problem-solving skills and ability to guide clients through any scenario ensure that, no matter the obstacles, we’ll find solutions and move forward together.
